    JOB OVERVIEW:

    The purpose of the position is to perform complex Microsoft SQL analytical and administration work. Employees in this position are the primary personnel to implement, maintain, monitor and protect Darden's Microsoft SQL systems. Employee must be able to work independently and without constant supervision. This individual will also analyze and resolve software problems in a timely and accurate manner.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -Proactively monitoring the production SQL infrastructure environment to ensure continued availability of the database services.

    -Completing maintenance and support actions for the production Windows servers running SQL services.

    -Developing processes to increase efficiency and automate regular maintenance of support actions.

    -Providing on-call support.

    -Identifying and resolving problems with the production SQL environment.

    -Provide 2nd level SQL support to Help Desk personnel

    -Assist Infrastructure team with testing and implementation of new software releases.

    -Deploy software for service packs or emergency security patches.

    -Experience and understanding of log shipping, mirroring and SQL clustering

    -Create and maintain documentation as it relates to SQL database configurations.

    -Manage and maintain SSRS and SSIS servers.

    -Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.

    -Provides consultation, support and guidance to IT Project teams and other departments. May develop and conduct training as needed or appropriate.

    -Participates in discussions regarding project decisions and project direction at the executive level.

    -Manages client expectations and balances the needs of organization and client to ensure satisfaction for all relevant parties.

    REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    -Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience

    -High proficiency in Microsoft Transaction SQL, including the ability to create views, functions and stored procedures.

    -Able to develop SSIS packages and SSRS reports

    -Expertise in backup and recovery methods for SQL.

    -Proficient with system performance measuring and monitoring.

    -Proficient with database encryption.

    -Strong understanding of networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols (TCP/IP, WINS).

    -Proficient in SAN and Storage technologies.

    -Knowledge of Active Directory.

    -Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strict attention to detail.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    -Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems or related field
