    Description

    Health and Safety Manager

    Location: Sterling, IL, US

    We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Health and Safety Manager within our Wireteam to help support our Steel Rod

    • Design and implement programs to enhance HS protocols at assigned Leggett & Platt, including behavioral safety and regulatory compliance programs, to help the company lower its total cost of risk and continuously improve performance.
    • Advise local plant leadership on improving HS practices, workplace safety, and the safety culture.
    • Coordinate with leadership, locally and across the business, on HS-related capital budget items, including helping to create a business case for their acquisition.
    • Develop ergonomic protocols for Leggett & Platt locations.
    • Develop and oversee HS training for employees.
    • Develop meeting agenda and conduct regular HS meetings with local managers, supervisors, and employees.
    • Oversee the incident/accident investigation process, including identifying the root cause and corrective action. Ensure that local managers, supervisors, and employees are adequately trained to conduct investigations and develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.
    • Record applicable information in our designated electronic systems.
    • Ensure Safety Alerts are prepared and promptly shared with all Leggett & Platt locations in the Domestic Bedding Group.
    • Establish a local safety self-audit program, train appropriate personnel to audit, and perform periodic reviews to ensure compliance.
