- Participates in repairing, installing, troubleshooting and performing preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment
- Prepares work schedules, assigns work
- Participates in setting up new equipment, making modifications of existing equipment
- Inspects work to insure work is done correctly, safely and efficiently
- Ensures that all needed materials are ordered by writing purchase requisitions and ensures that they are received for daily operations and project work
- Provides feedback to the Maintenance Manager for areas of improvement within the department
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
- Directly manages Maintenance Technicians
- Interviews applicants
- Trains employees
- Plans, assigns, and directs work
- Appraises performance
- Rewards and disciplines employees
- Addresses complaints and resolves problems
- One year certificate from technical school, Associate's Degree preferred
- Five years of experience in industrial maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a maintenance department
- Expert knowledge of hand and power tools
- Highly proficient with pneumatics and hydraulics
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics, motors, and general industry
- OSHA 30 certified
- FANUC HandlingTool Programing certificate required
- Expert with Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Valid driver's license
- Proficient with MS Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)
- Willing to work in an environment that requires a "Safety First" attitude. Must obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
- Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle non-energetic material
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
