    Job Description:

    Flybar, Inc., a renowned toy company, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our finance team at our headquarters in Piscataway, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of general accounting experience, proficiency in bookkeeping and reconciliation, a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and excellent analytical and communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Bookkeeping and Recordkeeping:
      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records through systematic bookkeeping.
      • Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial transactions into the accounting system.
    2. Reconciliation:
      • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
      • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
    3. GAAP Compliance:
      • Apply a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure financial statements' accuracy and compliance.
    4. Financial Reporting:
      • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
      • Generate ad-hoc financial reports as required by the CFO.
    5. Communication and Collaboration:
      • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners on financial matters.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information for financial reporting.
    6. Analytical Skills:
      • Utilize analytical skills to interpret and synthesize financial data.
      • Assist in financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
    7. Excel Expertise:
      • Demonstrate excellent Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
      • Maintain spreadsheets and databases with accuracy.

    Qualifications:

    • 1-2 years of general accounting experience.
    • Experience in bookkeeping and reconciliation.
    • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Clear and thorough communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize and interpret financial data.
    • Proficient in Excel and other relevant accounting software.
    • Detail-oriented and organized.

    Additional Information:

    This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is based at our headquarters in Piscataway, NJ. The role requires full in-office presence.
