Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of financial transactions. This position is responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, reconciling ledger accounts, and supporting general office functions. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to professional growth in the field of accounting.

Essential Functions:

· Maintains accurate financial records by recording and verifying financial transactions in accordance with established procedures and accounting principles.

· Reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

· Processes accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payment processing, and reconciliation of accounts.

· Supports general office duties as needed, such as filing, data entry, and administrative tasks.

· Demonstrates an entry-level understanding of accounting principles and seeks opportunities for professional development and growth in the accounting field.

General Functions:

· Takes responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.

· Collaborates with other members of the team to ensure that department goals and deadlines are met on time.

· Keeps relevant and informed of changes in the field of knowledge and experience.

· Attends and actively participates in department meetings to stay informed and follow through on shared responsibilities.

· Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

Skills and Abilities:

· Attention to detail: Ability to accurately review and analyze financial data and transactions.

· Communication skills: Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Dependability: Consistently demonstrates reliability and punctuality in performing job duties.

· Initiative: Eagerness to learn and grow in the accounting field, with a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.

· Time management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

· Technical aptitude: Basic understanding of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Analytical skills: Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.

Preferred Education and Experience:

· 1 to 3 years of related experience in accounting or financial roles.

· Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.

· Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
