YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Staff Accountantopportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The Staff Accountant I will be responsible for the execution of various daily accounting functions and period end financial reporting processes. The Staff Accountant will interface with accounting management and team members to ensure that accounting processes comply with company standards and requirements. The Staff Accountant should be able to meet established deadlines during the financial period with remarkable attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate should work well within a collaborative and team-based atmosphere and be able to interact daily with all levels of the company's workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting in preparation of financial statements utilizing inputs from JD Edwards and Reports Now
Processing month-end accrual, reconciliation, allocation and reclassification journal entries
Completing various account reconciliations and reporting schedules and preparing associated journal entries as needed
Performing invoicing procedures for periodic renewable natural gas revenues
Preparing various government agency and compliance reporting forms including certain tax filings with various states
Tracking inventory flows including reconciliation to actual flow statements and monitoring daily price indexes
Tracking and appropriately allocating capital expenditures
Assist with internal and external audit requests
Backup other accounting department duties as needed and engage in special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum two years of accounting experience
Highly organized with the ability to self-motivate to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to analyze data for accuracy and reasonableness
Strong customer-service orientation with excellent written and oral communication skills and listening and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
Experience with Microsoft programs with an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

Experience with renewable natural gas operations
CPA certification or public accounting background
Experience with JD Edwards

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE

The work environment is an office setting and the noise level is usually moderately quiet. The normal work schedule is a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday with the option for a hybrid work environment - 3 days in the office. Changes in schedule may be required as special circumstances arise and are at the discretion of mgmt.
