    Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for all purchases from suppliers to keep the business running. Their primary responsibilities include researching key suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring all products and materials meet company standards. The Procurement Specialist will work very closely with the Supply Chain Planner to support the process to efficiently balance supply and demand and achieve customer service levels. The position has a large impact on the company, revenue, and people.

    About the role:

    • Provide overall thought leadership, ownership of strategic sourcing
    • Lead the organization's purchasing processes, participate in organizational strategic and tactical planning processes
    • Champion cost reductions initiatives driving for the best total cost solution
    • Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in Supplier OTD, Margin Expansion, Inventory, and related KPI's by leveraging negotiation skills and the change management process
    • Develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships across the organization and with the supply base
    What do you need to be successful?
    • 3-5 years of order management experience utilizing a procure to pay system
    • Proficient in purchasing negotiation techniques; negotiate ethically with suppliers to drive results
    • Keep current on key market indicators and commodity pricing
    • Develop and manage relationships, across all levels in an organizational structure; highly collaborative
    • Drive supplier rationalization and supplier financial risk management
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent ability to communicate with internal business partners and suppliers
    • Ability to problem solve; thinking strategically and systemically
    • Self-motivated, dynamic, with a customer focused attitude and strong sense of accountability
    • Results focused with a positive approach to continuous improvement
    • Preferred experience in an electronics design & manufacturing environment

    Requirements

    Position Alignment

    What you can offer us:
    1. Purchasing (40%)
    • Ensure purchasing is derived from MRP, maintain MRP product attributes essential to production
    • Benchmark and incorporate best practices that move closer to industry best practices that are applicable to our operations & supply chain
    • Provide purchasing support for Production as well as non-inventory purchases
    • Support Finance as needed to facilitate supplier payment and new supplier set up
    • Establish relevant KPI's/Metrics to measure/monitor the execution performance and risks
    2. Strategic Sourcing (30%)
    • Drive cost savings initiatives based on targets and associated metrics for Cost Reductions and Cost Avoidances
    • Drive the corporate sourcing strategy; communicate with stakeholders and adjust per business needs
    • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance including formal business reviews with supplier scorecards
    • Lead and manage the competitive bidding process to facilitate the lowest possible product cost
    • Collaborate with Engineering team to lead the supplier selection, qualification/on boarding while executing to supplier commercial terms
    3. Planning & Process Improvement (20%)
    • Partner with Supply Chain Planner and Production Manager to plan materials to exceed customer expectations
    • Understand Product Life Cycle Management and product specific inventory strategies while ensuring continuity of supply and avoiding component cost increases or E&O exposure
    4. Development (10%)
    • Understand your strengths & weaknesses, identify your career desires, develop a plan to get better
    • Continuously develop leadership and influence skills
    • Support and strengthen the culture, clearly understand & communicate purpose & culture
