The Cultural Wellness Center is seeking a regular employee
or contractor
to serve as an Associate member of our Finance team supporting bookkeeping, payroll and Benefits functions.
If hired as a full-time regular employee, this position will provide benefits, flexible officing options, and a starting salary of $55,000.

The Cultural Wellness Center is a 501c3 Nonprofit organization with an annual budget in 2024 of $5 Million, founded in Minneapolis, MN in 1996, with employees and engaged communities in 11 US States and Territories.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Bookkeeping, Payroll and Benefits Associate will be responsible for supporting a range of functions in the areas of financial management and human resources management.
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented person to oversee these aspects within our rapidly growing organization.As part of the Finance Team, this position reports to CWCs Chief Financial Officer, and works closely with the Director of External Affairs and Chief Contracts Officer.
The Accounting and HR Associate will have options for working remotely or from CWC office space in Minneapolis, MN. Semi-regular in-person attendance of meetings in Minneapolis will be required.Responsibilities
Serving as lead resource for information and support with health insurance benefits.
This may include supporting the organization and its employees with:
Plan selection
The application process
Ongoing payment and reporting systems.
Serving as the lead resource for payroll systems, including:
Reviewing employee time cards to verify accuracy
Preparing and recording payroll information for employees, and submitting records to our payroll service.
Maintaining the strict confidentiality of payroll records
Corresponding with vendors and customers, as necessary
Assisting in preparing financial statements and reports
In coordination with grants management team:
Processing accounts receivable
Supporting the calendar of contract-related tasks including proposal deadlines, project timelines, and deliverables.
Tracking contract-related Accounts Receivable and supporting the CFO and others in submitting payment requests in a timely manner.
Requirements
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports
Ability to effectively present information to leaders and coworkers
Solid computer background, including Microsoft Excel and experience in QuickBooks Online software preferred
Some post high school education or work experience in accounting, bookkeeping or related fields.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The starting salary for this position is $55,000.
