    HCI is a leading multi-unit management company based in Manhattan, Kansas.

    HCI's largest brand is Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers franchises with 40+ locations throughout the Midwest, Texas, and East Coast.

    HCI manages three locally owned and operated restaurants in Manhattan and Junction City and offers full-service catering to the central Kansas area.

    In 2021 HCI added Booth Creek Wagyu, Meatworks of Kansas processing plant in Riley, KS, and Booth Creek Wagyu Retail store in Manhattan.

    The newest additions were developed in 2023, adding two retail stores, one in Overland Park and Wichita, KS.

    Job Description


    The Human Resources Intern will assist with administrative functions of the department in order to help the team remain organized and in compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.

    This position will work from our corporate office and communicate with other internal departments as well as staff in our locations across the country.


    Duties/Responsibilities:
    Assist with onboarding activities and follow up on required documentation
    Assist with processing personnel record changes, including terminations, direct deposits, tax withholdings, addresses, etc.
    Ship packages & envelopes and determine least expensive courier option
    Assist with Applicant Tracking System (ATS) maintenance and organization including app rejection
    Complete employment and wage verifications – both verbal and written
    Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

    Qualifications


    Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, other office procedures and terminology.

    Basic knowledge of Office 365 applications
    Ability to use English language and grammar in order to convey information effectively in written and verbal communication.
    High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
    Actively seeking bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred
