    Position Overview:

    Spring Consulting Group, LLC, an Alera Company, is looking for summer interns to join our growing team. As a summer intern, you will work within a team to develop solutions for clients offering employee health, life, disability and pension benefits. This position will based in our Boston office. Remote candidates will be considered.

    Company Background:

    Spring provides strategic consulting services, including actuarial consulting to major employers, associations and insurance and financial services organizations throughout the world. Our consulting team has extensive industry experience in areas such as risk management, actuarial, health care, life insurance, disability and absence management, property & casualty insurance, retirement and pension services. In addition, the firm provides strategic consultation directly to employers on the use of captive insurance facilities in the employee benefits and property & casualty area. Formerly the U.S. Strategy Consulting unit of Watson Wyatt Insurance & Financial Services, Inc., Spring was founded by the management team in 2004.

    Spring became part of Alera in 2018. Alera Group is a privately-held firm based out of Deerfield, Illinois.     Position Responsibilities:

    You will work closely with actuaries and consultants in the following areas:

  • Provide project management and general data collection, organization and client support
  • Assist with marketing and new business initiatives
  • Support office and administrative functions as necessary
  • Participate in company peer review process
  • Support intellectual capital development within firm
  • Correspond with clients, including data gathering, discussion of issues and presentations at meetings

    • The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Previous office experience a plus
  • Flexibility and energy to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
