    Production Test Technician - East Windsor, United States - Accurate Personnel LLC

    Description

    Our client is looking for a Production Test Technician to join their team in East Windsor, CT. This is a direct hire opportunity for a Manufacturing company

    Position Summary: The Production Test Technician is responsible for the programming, performance testing and final assembly of desiccant dryers and plastic material handling systems. This position requires a strong understanding of electromechanical concepts and applications to test and approve manufactured equipment to proceed to shipping.

    Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

    Pay: $22-$30 DOE

    Principal Duties:

    • Inspect electrical wiring and mechanical portions of the equipment prior to attaching power circuits to ensure error-free products. including testing heater resistance and transformer. Inspect wiring installations, assemblies.
    • Install protective devices such as fuses based on electrical load and confirm circuit breaker ratings and overload settings for accuracy.
    • Connect appropriate power cable to equipment based on machinery specification. Machinery Voltages used: Single Phase 110/120/ 250VAC, Three Phase 208VAC, 220/240VAC, 460VAC, 600VAC.
    • Install software for the specific model equipment utilizing various PC programming software
    • Operate and monitor the dryer for proper operation. Record operating parameters and key performance benchmarks.
    • Diagnose and repair any problems or inconsistencies encountered during the test process. Any issues should be brought back to the appropriate assembler to prevent future issues.
    • Review the manufactured product and match it to the order. All components from order should be included with the equipment
    • Wire various control panel products in preparation for mechanical assembly, test and final inspection.
    • Cut, strip, crimp and wire 26 AWG – 6 AWG with a high degree of accuracy
    • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, integrated circuit boards, PLC's, HMI's, sockets, terminals and fuse holders on panels
    • Read, understand and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions, wiring schematics and diagrams
    • Operate computerized terminal, wire labeling and engraving equipment
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a respectful manner with vendors, co-workers and management.
    • Responsible for maintaining work area in a clean and organized manner as well as complying with all safety regulations.
    • Assists management and co-workers to maximize productivity, safety, quality, team building through his/her expertise in a given job function.
    • Perform other activities as directed by management to meet or exceed company objectives.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with rapidly moving equipment, noise and dust level associated with such operations.
    • Exhibit mechanical dexterity to operate hand tools and power tools.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
    • Routinely lift machine parts and items weighing up to50 lbs.
    • Exhibit close tolerance strength such as loosening and tightening bolts in narrow spaces.
    • Good vision (correctable to 20/20).
    • Ability to work while standing for long periods of time (4 hours straight).
    • Ability to fulfill overtime and call-in requirements as needed, to complete tasks on time.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, crouch, bend, twist, bilaterally use hands (with a fine degree of motor skills) and arms, climb, talk and hear.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to understand electrical components and electronics
    • Ability to understand electrical schematics and blueprints
    • Exhibit mechanical comprehension.
    • Ability to read and write at a level such that he/she can communicate effectively.
    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, order specifications, and machine manuals.
    • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
    • Ability to handle stress associated with meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to interact and get along with co-workers.

    Education and Experience:

    A high school degree (or equivalent) is required with one-year minimum related experience inpoint-to-point electrical wiring and/or training.

    Supervision:

    Must be capable of working independently to achieve project schedules and goals. Expected to be flexible and support the project objectives and deadlines beyond the normal schedule, if/when necessary.
