Mechanical Engineering Intern                      FMI, Allentown, PA                       Summers 2021-2022

• Developed a temporary batch cooling setup as well as helped start the process of design for
permanent setup. Improved temporary setup cooling times from 5 ½ hours to 50 minutes.
• Improved bulk batch making process efficiency and reliability through data collection and
analysis.
• Collected and helped analyze data for implementation of statistical process control on
machines and components. Identified cause of high rejection/rework rate on PET bottles.
• Implemented root cause analysis for raw material inventory inaccuracies. Developed
spreadsheet with a PivotTable. Identified several contributing causes which led to handling
process changes and retraining that slashed problems from over 30/day to a few.
• Implemented new asset management and preventative maintenance software. Added all asset
data and equipment manuals, and created PMs.
• Authored Standard Operating Procedures for batch making, packaging, labeling and
measurement equipment.
• Developed an Excel script to consolidate downtime data from multiple sources, which was
previously manually entered, allowing more timely and accurate responses. Created charts to
track downtime by cause over time.
• Learned to set up and maintain line packing equipment including hoppers, pumps, fillers,
cappers, labelers, and induction sealers.
