Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations of seafarers onboard the cruise ship

Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections

Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed

Perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing and wound care

Provide health education and counseling to seafarers on topics such as disease prevention, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans

Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols

Participate in on-board emergency response drills and provide immediate medical care in case of emergencies

Conduct health and safety training for crew members as needed

Communicate effectively with ship's officers and crew members to ensure a safe and healthy working environment

Requirements:

Master's degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Current state nursing license and certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting

Experience in emergency or critical care is preferred

Familiarity with maritime health and safety regulations is a plus

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to travel and work on board ships for extended periods of time

Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas for international travel
