Description

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough health assessments and physical exams of seafarers on the cruise ship
Diagnose and treat both sudden and long-term illnesses, injuries, and infections
Prescribe and give medications and treatments when required
Perform small surgical procedures like stitching and wound care
Offer health education and guidance to seafarers on topics including disease prevention, nutrition, and making healthy lifestyle choices
Work together with other healthcare experts to devise and execute treatment plans
Maintain precise and up-to-date medical records
Follow all safety and infection control measures
Engage in emergency response drills on board and offer immediate medical assistance during emergencies
Provide health and safety training to crew members as necessary
Communicate effectively with ship's officers and crew to ensure a secure and healthy work environment

Requirements:

Hold a Master's degree in Nursing and be a certified Nurse Practitioner
Have a valid state nursing license and Nurse Practitioner certification
At least 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care environment
Prior experience in emergency or critical care is desirable
Awareness of maritime health and safety regulations is a bonus
Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Be open to traveling and working on ships for extended periods
Hold a valid passport and be able to secure required visas for international travel
