    Packaging Manager - Dallas, United States - Highline Aftermarket

    To Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

    Responsible for establishing goals and metrics for functional area and drive the team to meet or exceed these goals and metrics.

    Work across the organization to ensure availability and accuracy of inventory. Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
    Effectively develop departmental budgets and reports.

    Partner with internal and external customers to identify customer requirements to ensure that their needs are met in a timely and accurate manner.

    Maintain staffing level to accomplish packaging operations in an effective and efficient manner; prepare work schedules to meet customer requirements and expectations and company schedules and specifications; use independent judgment to assign team member work duties to meet operational requirements; make sure team members and co-workers have the information needed to perform their job duties; approve leave and overtime as appropriate.

    Lead regular and periodic department meetings; ensure labor and other expenses are in line with budget.
    Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment, ensuring area is clean.
    Continually evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency. Establish and document standard operating procedures and ensure the team is adhering to them. Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
    Lead team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement.

    Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company's mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well.

    Investigate performance concerns and implement disciplinary action, up to and including termination, as needed and in compliance with company procedures and with consultation with the human resources department.

    Collaborate with Human Resources on complaints and performance concerns and implement disciplinary action, up to and including termination, as needed and in compliance with company procedures.

    Work with human resources department to manage hiring process for direct reports; interview and select candidates for hire in compliance with company processes.

    Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
    Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
    Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

    Demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with an eye for detail.

    Operate a computer and demonstrate PC proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    Work with mathematical concepts to solve complex problems and to develop practical solutions.
    Demonstrate advanced knowledge of production and manufacturing operations.
    Communicate skillfully using a variety of mediums of upper leadership.
    Lead and inspire team members; must be able to relate to and build team working relationships.
    Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal or external customers. Present information clearly and accurately.
    Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed.
    Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
    Handle challenges skillfully, thoroughly, and effectively.
    Effectively manage projects and meet deadlines from origin through execution and of high quality.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
    An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or related field.

    5+ years of increasingly responsible management experience, or a satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.

    This is a desk-based job and will require the individual to remain seated for long periods of time and have the manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, phone, copier/scanner, and similar machines.

    Must be able to move about in a dc facility to observe and effectively communicate with associates and manage operations.


    ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS

    The environmental conditions described here are representative of those the associate encounters while performing the Essential Functions of the job.

    The individual will work in an office setting in the same room as other individuals. Noise levels are average for an office and include conversation and/or office equipment noise.

    While reviewing operations and associate work practices, the individual will also be expected to work in a warehouse environment, which may include being exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, dust, and extreme heat or cold.
