- Developing and writing education reports
- Coordinating, writing and submitting grant proposals
- Serving as the liaison with Communications to update the website with stories and resourceful education related information
- Supporting assigned national and local initiative as assigned.
- Coordinating and facilitating meetings among staff across functional teams, as requested
- Providing project management support
- Logistically supporting in-person and virtual meetings
- Conducting quality assurance on data and education outcomes and making recommendations for improvements, if necessary
- Creating and updating database of education partners nationally
- Coordinating speakers for convenings and helping with event planning
- Helping to secure the resources need to expand USI educational portfolio
- Conducting research and data analysis that leads to the development of White Papers and Through Leadership
- Reviewing and edit reports
- Helping communicate Urban's mission, history, and practice to broader audiences; and
- Carrying out general administrative duties
- Bachelor's or Master's in public administration, human services, social work or related fields
- Expert in the use of Excel, Powerpoint and MS Word
- Understanding and use of GIS Mapping is a plus
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of equity and the relationship between education and housing policy
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
- Ability and commitment to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Self-starter and independent worker comfortable with working in a variety of settings with culturally - diverse persons and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.

BACKGROUND
For over 40 years, Urban Strategies, Inc. has assisted residents and community stakeholders to design and implement a wide range of transformative projects in distressed U.S. communities. Our goal is to ensure that our all of families are stable and thriving.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Executive Fellow – Education- directly supports The Vice President, Educational Initiatives as well as provides local support to assigned initiatives, including but not limited to Promise Neighborhoods. Bodies of work include program planning, development, and reporting, project management support of assigned initiatives, research, data collection, analysis, monitoring, meeting coordination, grant writing, partnership management, and mapping. The Fellowship is an opportunity to collaborate with leadership on day-to-day internal and external tasks required to increase cradle to career educational results across the system. This position is meant to help the Fellow to also develop his/ her own aptitude in community organizing, non-profit operations, data analysis, and creative problem-solving.
