    General Description

    Provide clinical and administrative supervision and oversight to the clinicians, family partners, peer specialists, and bachelors level staff on the AMCI/YMCI Team. Responsible for all of the triage and supervisory decision making during their shift in conjunction with Emergency Services Administrator on Call. Provide supervision and coordination of mobile crisis services for youth and adults throughout Berkshire County in coordination with the full array of Emergency Services. Provide crisis intervention, consultation, and level of care evaluations to all individuals and providers seeking services.

    Essential Job Functions

    PROFESSIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide leadership and guidance to staff providing AMCI/YMCI services.
    • Provide coordination and leadership for all AMCI/YMCI services.
    • Ensure and facilitate the integration of recovery services into AMCI/YMCI services.
    • Follow and adhere to all clinical procedures and protocols related to AMCI/YMCI services.
    • Follow and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Emergency Services Division and the Brien Center.
    • Maintain ethical and professional standards.
    • Represent the Brien Center in a professional manner in all community contacts.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to the Brien Center's mission and community mental health principles.
    • Flexibly respond to meet program needs.
    • Work cooperatively with other staff and team members.

    CLINICAL DUTIES/PATIENT CARE:

    • Treat patients and referral sources in a respectful and caring manner.
    • To evaluate clients as needed for the department during high volumes or staffing shortages.Answer the phones and assist with triaging crisis calls and referrals.
    • Provide a complete diagnostic assessment to include risk assessment, differential diagnosis, and level of care recommendations.
    • Provide specialized assessment and intervention.
    • Manage crisis situations as necessary.
    • Coordinate, collaborate and communicate with Brien Center Colleagues, and other service organizations such as DMH, DCF, etc in the community.
    • Provide clinical consultation and supportive services to patients in the clinics, hospital, schools or other places within Berkshire County.
    • Provide case management and follow up services for patients evaluated by AMCI/YMCI
    • Provide follow-up services for patients evaluated by the AMCI/YMCI as needed including 7 day MCI interventions.
    • Obtain authorization, utilization review, and collaborate with insurance companies as needed.
    • Make referrals to guide the admission process to hospital, respite, detox, and outpatient levels of care.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide clinical and administrative supervision and oversight to AMCI/YMCI staff.
    • Check-in with each clinician who is working regarding cases and clinical decision making.
    • Resolve any conflicts that occur among crisis clinicians and other professionals.
    • Be available in person or by telephone for any problematic cases and assist in clinical decision making on these cases.
    • Review all cases with clinicians.
    • Supervise clinicians or interns as directed or assigned.
    • Oversee triage and the Alert and Follow-Up Tracker
    • Ensure that all AMCI/YMCI staff adhere to contractual requirements and performance specifications
    • Provide direct oversight to all aspects of Mobile Crisis Intervention services throughout Berkshire County.
    • Provide case consultation services and case specific supervision to AMCI/YMCI staff.
    • Coordinate staff training and orientation in conjunction with the Emergency Services Program Director and the Clinical Director of CBHC and Emergency Services.
    • Participate in program development and implementation of new program initiatives in conjunction with the Emergency Services Program Director and the Clinical Director of CBHC and Emergency Services.

    QUALITY MANAGEMENT/RISK MANAGEMENT:

    • Participate in QI/QA, Risk Management and program development initiatives as assigned.
    • Report all critical incidents, complaints and grievances.
    • Monitor clinical records and charts and report quality or compliance issues to the Emergency Services Program Director and the Clinical Director of CBHC and Emergency Services.
    • Advise AMCI/YMCI staff on risk assessment, risk management and safety planning.
    • Conduct monthly client chart audits as assigned and provide feedback to staff in clinical supervision.

    ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBLILITES:

    • Assist with ongoing development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures for the AMCI/YMCI Team.
    • Maintain clear and legible client records and complete documentation in a timely manner.
    • Attend and participate in clinical supervision.
    • Attend staff meetings and agency trainings as scheduled.
    • Attend provider meetings and case supervision with direct care/community providers as directed or assigned.
    • Provide clinical supervision and training to new employees as directed or assigned.
    • Provide clinical supervision and oversight to student interns as directed or assigned.
    • Cover shifts as assigned.
    • Participate in program development and CQI/QA projects.
    • Participate in case supervision.

    Qualifications

    • PhD, MSW or Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, other equivalent graduate clinical degree.
    • LCSW, LICSW, LMHC required within 6 months of eligibility date.
    • 2-3 year's post license clinical experience preferred.
