    Description

    Arrowhead Promotion and Fulfillment is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This position is responsible for managing the expenses for the company by analyzing invoices and expense reports, resolving accounting discrepancies, and charging expenses to accounts. The Accounts Payable Specialist is also responsible for determining which expenses are re-billable to clients and records those transactions to ensure they are properly billed on client invoices. The ideal candidate would have strong problem solving skills and work ethic, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and strong attention to detail. The candidate should also have knowledge of accounting and accounting software, and is fluent using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

    Requirements

    Accounts Payable Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
    • Manage workflow processes to ensure proper approval on vendor invoices
    • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors
    • Ensure bills are paid in a timely and in an accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
    • Partner with the Procurement Team and other departments to ensure expenses are reconciled back to purchase orders and properly recorded to the correct projects and accounts.
    • Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling general ledger accounts
    • Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
    • Backup the Procurement Team when necessary.
    • Reconcile the Accounts Payable Aging to the General Ledger Account
    • Produce analytical reports, including but not limited to, expense analysis communicating increases and decreases in expenses while maintaining an understanding of why those increases/decreases took place and communicate those findings to management.
    • Process the daily Positive Pay File
    • Process Unclaimed Property filings and payments to the states and/or consumers
    • Prepare and File 1099's
    • Other duties as assigned
    Accounts Payable Specialist Skills and Qualifications:
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
    • Experience working with Financial Systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Thorough understanding of business requirements and problem solving skills
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines
    • Ability to make independent decisions, staying objective at all times
    • Ability to produce, read and analyze financial reports
    Accounts Payable Specialist Education and/or Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred with at least two years' experience in accounting or related field or Associates degree with at least five years' related experience
    Accounts Payable Specialist Shift Requirements:
    • Full Time, 8am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
