- Assures Surgery Center compliance with all government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies within this position's scope of practice.
- Represents the Center in its relationship with these entities.
- Reports variances, occurrences and events involving risk management to Surgery Center Medical Director, ASC Administrator, Continuous Quality Control Committee and Governing Board using excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Monitors and reports Center variances of the center relative to identified benchmarks, industry standards, Staffing updates to the Medical Director and when appropriate to the Governing Body.
- Participates with Governing Body to chart and implement the Center's mission in response to the changing needs of the community.
- Informs the Governing Body about current trends, problems and activities in the medical field to facilitate policy making.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Governing Board, Medical Staff, employees, patients and the public.
- Provides oversight and coordinates the provision of healthcare services by the acquisition, utilization retention and organization of resources (human, financial, physical) in conjunction with management company personnel.
- Recommends, develops and updates strategic short term and long range plans to support the center's philosophy and goals.
- Works with ASC Administrator to coordinate the selection and training of new personnel. Reviews employee performance as scheduled or at least annually.
- Provides disciplinary action and/or discharge of employees.
- Manages employee files and records.
- Approves PTO requests and overtime hours.
- Continually monitors operations and initiates appropriate changes with management team, medical staff and Governing Board.
- Coordinates, with other management team members, resolution of any medical or administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthy atmosphere.
- Enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in surgery center administration.
- Is knowledgeable of information systems programs and application.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives.
- Appoints a person responsible for the facility in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
- Oversees monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities of the Center.
- Plans and coordinates quarterly and annual drills for staff.
- Oversees and promotes QI program, involves staff and provides findings to POSC employees, medical staff and governing board.
- Directly supervises the Surgery Center.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Registered Nurse (currently licensed in the state of Georgia) and/or Business/Health Management Degree.
- Prior experience in a management role, including supervisory experience (minimum 2-5 years), preferably in an ambulatory surgery setting.
- Prior experience with fiscal responsibility, preferably in a for-profit setting.
- A foundation knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- BLS certification, ACLS certification preferred.
- CASC certification preferred or will to become certified within five (5) years.
- An equivalent combination of experience may be acceptable.

Job Type: Full Time
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of daily operations of the Surgery Center. Provides leadership, Clinical direction for the Surgery Center to insure accomplishment of center-level objectives and provides supervision, facilitation and guidance to supervisor/lead team members. The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, directing, coordinating and controlling the clinical operating functions, processes and staff. He/she is expected to promote efficient surgical services which lead to positive patient experiences and foster positive work relationships among all departments at the Surgery Center.
COVID-19 Vaccine Policy: In accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Peachtree Orthopaedic Surgery Centers requires that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with exceptions only for those with an approved medical, disability, or religious exemptions. Physical Demands and Work Conditions: In this role, you'll experience the rigorous yet rewarding physical demands of the job. You can expect to stand, walk, talk, and hear during your shifts. There may be occasions when you're on your feet for extended periods, involving tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving patients on stretchers. Your work environment may expose you to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. You'll need to move all extremities within the full range of motion and perform stooping and bending at 90 degrees. Regularly, you'll lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and possess specific vision abilities, including close vision. The surgical arena features a moderate noise level, creating a professional and supportive atmosphere dedicated to patient care and your professional development.
