Position Responsibilities
Deltek is seeking a results-oriented, detail-driven project manager with strong experience leading Agile development and launch of enterprise software products.
1) the engineering team that is developing the product and 2) the release team that is ensuring that Deltek organizations are ready to sell, ready to service and ready to support the product.
For engineering project work, the PM will be responsible for several concurrent development projects of both new and existing Deltek products and will be accountable for on-time, on-budget, high quality software project deliveries.
This position also requires a high degree of collaboration with the leaders of technical teams such as design, development, documentation, operations and quality assurance, and product management.
The PM is also expected to contribute to project management and software development best practices, including consulting with project teams that are moving to Agile.
For release readiness project work, the PM is accountable for on-time and on-budget delivery of release to the market and attainment of defined release goals.
These responsibilities include managing the work to release the product to the market including working with a cross-functional team to define the release goals, establishing a controlled release schedule, and reporting post release success measurements.
This includes overseeing dependencies and handoffs between organizations such as Product Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, Sales, Customer Support, IT, Finance and Legal.
Specific Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management -
Apply modern project management techniques to manage
a project, achieving objectives of scope, quality, time and cost; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare progress reports; present to executive steering committee on
a regular basis;
proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues; manage project changes; develop relationships with key business stakeholders.
Team Management - Hold project teams accountable for their project responsibilities and deliverables; proactively ensure that teams are "in sync" in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc.

develop project teams by promoting empowerment, engagement and high quality deliverables; project manage teams in Europe, US and the Philippines.
Process Management and Improvement - champion continuous improvement and adoption of project management, Agile software development and release readiness best practices.
Cross functional teaming - Assemble cross-functional teams;work with the team to establish measureable goals for the release, and establish a controlled release schedule that includes Beta, Limited Availability, and General Availability releases, an Early Adopters Program, and all cross-functional readiness activities; proactively ensure that teams are "in sync" in terms of communication

Qualifications
Strong understanding of the development life cycle for enterprise software products, with knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management practices.
Deltek is a fast-paced environment; the ability to multitask on different projects concurrently and react quickly to movements in the business is critical.
A strong communicator with the ability to pull out and summarize information, tailor communication style and content for executives, comfortable and confident presenting to executives.
Driven, proactive and a do-er.Have an understanding of the "bigger picture".
Be able to conceptualize where and how the project fits into the company's mission.
Must be able to establish project goals, validate and confirm acceptance, challenge stakeholders, and hold stakeholders accountable.
Enough technical insight to become a credible leader with development teams, to facilitate resolution of software product issues, and to evaluate complex project issues and risks.
Able to communicate with customers to gather requirements, gather feedback in early adopter programs and support issue resolution during deployments.
Experience:5+
years of progressively responsible experience on large scale software development projects, preferably in a commercial software development environment
Proven project management in the software industry using project management best practices.
Proven experience managing Agile projects and moving teams to Agile
B.S., Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Proven experience managing projects with remote teams
Product Launch/Release Readiness/GA process experience. Working with cross functional teams to ensure a software product and the organizations are ready to release the product to the market (desired)
Experience working with a Product Marketing and/or Product Management organization (desired)
Experience working in a PMO (desired)
Experience developing or deploying ERP or HRIS software (desired)
