    Responsibilities

    The Project Manager II is responsible for managing, without the need for significant direction, predominantly Category 2 and 3 projects within the business unit in accordance with ZF's new product introduction management process requirements.

    Responsible to manage projects and project team activities in the development and launch of new products and continuous engineering.

    Lead multi-functional business program teams using a company-specific product launch process (GDPEP), maintaining the database that monitors the status of the global program portfolio and acting as gatekeeper to ensure adherence to GDPEP.

    Responsible to manage the customer interface from GDPEP Phases 3-8 (award through post launch) and continuous engineering until the project goes into service.

    Coordinate functional activities and ensure matrix resource efficiencies to achieve program objectives. Matrix functions include Sales, Product Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistic and Finance.

    Responsible to balance the competing demands of scope, time, and cost (also known as the "triple constraint") while achieving the highest quality and stakeholder/customer satisfaction levels.

    Conduct flawless launch of programs - meet deliver key milestones (internal and external) on time, with expected financial performance, and proper technical performance as defined by released specifications. Drive risk up stream and ensure final product definition is contained in the PV build. When reporting ensures accuracy and appropriate transparency.

    Responsible for working to meet or exceed stakeholder and customer expectations.

    Responsible for driving relevant project and project status communications among ZF stakeholders (customer, supplier, project team, functional & divisional management) using Agile methods.

    Responsible for monitoring progress of projects through internal reviews, participation in team meetings, and assist where needed to resolve impasses by resolving elevated issues internally and with the customer, ensuring barriers that could impede program progress are removed.

    The primary scope involves high risk/complexity, new or future business awards and program launches, but also includes existing programs that have major changes directed by the customer or VAVE cost reduction activities.

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering or related technical field required. (Master's preferred

    Minimum 8 years of Automotive experience with 6+ years of project management experience.

    English proficiency required.

    Competency in product design fundamentals, automotive APQP processes, PPAP/ PSO processes, manufacturing knowledge, and financial management basics (tooling, capex and non-recurring cost mgt.).

    Intermediate working knowledge of ZF product development processes (GDPEP, Clarity, Windchill, SAP, MS Project) and Project Management standard processes.

    Knowledge of the PMI PMBOK Nine Knowledge Areas including Project Integration Mgt., Project Scope Mgt., Project Time Mgt., Project Cost and Profitability Mgt., Project Quality Mgt., Project Human Resources Mgt., Project Communications Mgt., and Project Risk Mgt.
