- Generate and post journal entries to the general ledger during month-end / year-end closes and streamline entries to accomplish the close process in 3 days.
- Generate reconciliations for over $5 billion in revenue, over $400 million in inventory, cost of goods sold, intercompany activity, LIFO and obsolete reserves, vendor / customer deposits, and accrued commissions.
- Support the calculate of LIFO and obsolete inventory reserves, as well as assist in the development of a new streamlined methodology to calculate the obsolete reserve rate on a yearly basis.
- Complete inventory and obsolete reserve calculation, the Bank Borrowing Certificate, and internal reporting to senior management on a monthly basis.
- Interpret, input, and analyze information on leases, amendments, assignments, and other legal documents.
- Review bank reporting to lenders in-order-to determine inventory basis for bank loans and liens.
- Work with on-site Financial Audits by lenders, external audit, and internal audit.
- Produce yearly sales and inventory reporting for internal tax team.
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
- Support the Balance Sheet Review for Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and other senior management.
- Work with external and internal auditors on inventory and revenue recognition, and validate those submissions are in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain local administrative function for the integration of Blackline as the company's new General Ledger system.
- Investigate variances and cost discrepancies in Work in Process inventory and educate involved parties on how to correct and avoid going forward.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Travel offsite as 'internal auditor' for physical inventory counts and execute quantity adjustments as needed.
- Design and analyze ad hoc reporting for Financial Planning and Analysis team and collaborate to align strategies and determine plans of action to reduce costs.
- Maintain depreciation / amortization schedules.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred.
- Five years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- High level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
- Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills.
- Will interact regularly with managers and staff.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Employee works under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet.
