- Daily, ensure transactions are accurately entered into accounting systems in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure data integrity and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
- In coordination with senior management, build and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, Marketing, CPA, Bank, various certifying agencies.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of cash, investment, client, vendor and general ledger accounts as part of the month-end closing process. Perform thorough account variance analysis and communicate issues and resolutions in a timely, professional manner.
- In coordination with the Controller, prepare quarterly Balance Sheet, P&L statement, Cash Flow forecasts, and analyze budget variances.
- Process weekly cash funding, including AR and AP processing. Process weekly timesheets and bi-weekly payroll. Must comply with payroll and benefits
- Prepare Company financial statements including Balance Sheet, P&L statements, and Trial Balance. Analyze results and answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Report internally to senior management and shareholders and to external stakeholders, including banks, independent auditors, certifying agencies, and others as needed.
- Participate in the preparation of federal and state tax returns and timely filing.
- Organize and compile requested information for various independent auditors, including insurance audits.
- Assemble and upload documents to a number of online portals.
- Improve the financial processes. Develop process documentation for all areas of responsibility and update regularly.
- Protect organizations value by keeping information confidential.
- Perform other ad hoc tasks and duties as required or assigned.
- Well organized and self-directed with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks, manage priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.
- Contracts accounting experience is a plus
- General knowledge of wage and hour laws and contract accounting a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
