    Description

    Core Responsibilities:

    The Communications & Content Specialist / Event Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the development of our marketing strategy and planning successful events that advance the recognition of the company and the brand. The successful candidate will research, design, develop, and coordinate conferences, conventions, customer meetings and other large-scale events. He or she will interact with clients, other team members, and product vendors to promote existing and new promotional content. The individual will lead and create content for company events (internal and external), newsletters, and be the social media liaison.

    Essential Functions:

    • Communicate with vendors, sites and suppliers to create and maintain trade show schedule.
    • Manage all aspects of the trade show planning process, including collaboration with vendors, subcontractors, venue, printing and content/design of materials and budget tracking.
    • Create content for MEC social media pages and website
    • Manage Team Member spotlight
    • Develop monthly communications for internal team
    • Act as primary contact for third party contractors regarding scheduling and delivery of materials. Coordinate materials to pack, ship, and unpack.
    • Lead tracking.
    • Maintain and update annual global trade show calendar.
    • Offer support to MEC sales team.
    • Collaborate with several departments and other MEC subsidiaries to identify potential new opportunities / shows / events.
    • Attend periodic trade shows as directed by the Director of Marketing and Regulatory Compliance.
    • Provide support to the Customer Service and Sales teams.
    • Create and edit videos and photographic content.

    Competencies:

    Technical capacity, ethical conduct, communication proficiency, personal effectiveness / credibility, customer focused, creative, organized, presentation skills. Photography, Video capture and editing skills.

    Travel:

    This position may require up to 15% travel.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position would require the ability to lift files and boxes, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The need to visit the manufacturing facility would require this individual to be exposed to moving or mechanical parts with moderate noise levels.

    This position may occasionally be required to travel overnight to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training. The position may be required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet deadlines and requirements.
