    The Town of Garner, NC, is looking for an innovative, visionary, and transformational Human Resources (HR) Director. As a key part of the executive team, the HR Director will lead and oversee the development and execution of the town's goals. Responsibilities include supporting major departmental transitions and playing a crucial role in the transformation of the fire department. The ideal candidate is a highly trusted leader who upholds high standards of excellence.

    About the Department: Operating under a non-partisan Council-Manager government, the Human Resources Director reports to the Town Manager. The HR Director manages a department budget of $718,000 and 5 staff, overseeing various HR functions.

    The HR Director must ensure consistent application of HR policies town-wide, while also driving the department's evolution into a strategic operation. Goals for the incoming HR Director include streamlining processes like recruitment, enhancing decision-making efficiency among department directors, and fostering a customer-centric HR approach to reduce legal risks.
