- Prepares or reviews crew share calculations including estimates paid after each fishing trip and final settlements.
- Monitors inventory levels (both products for sale and supplies for fishing vessels) and approves cold storage charges.
- Prepares quarterly calculations for inventory levels, prepaid fishing trip expenses, and cost accruals.
- Prepares annual financial plan for fishing trips and updates throughout the year.
- Produces management reports on profitability of fishing trips by season.
- Prepares Alaska Fisheries Landing Tax returns, Seattle and Washington business tax returns and other tax-related filings.
- Prepares cost accounting analysis of vessel improvements and shipyard projects.
- Exempt; Salaried. $125,000.00+DOE/year.
- PTO: 15 days annually to start, increasing to 20 days at six years.

- Possesses strong understanding of cost accounting and financial accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills including use of Excel.
- Able to develop an in depth understanding of vessel operations and profit drivers.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business related field.
- Minimum of three years previous experience in a similar accounting position or as a financial statement auditor with a regional/national CPA firm.

Company BackgroundBristol Wave Seafoods, LLC currently operates seven catcher processor vessels using longline gear (hooks and pots), primarily in the Bering Sea, and has been in business for over thirty years. BWS sells its harvest, primarily pacific cod, black cod (sablefish) and greenland turbot, on a worldwide basis. We are the largest freezer longline company in the United States resulting from the 2019 merger of Clipper Seafoods and Blue North Fisheries.
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer and has responsibility for tracking the profitability of fishing trips, including crew compensation calculations, fuel, bait and other fishing trip costs and accounting for inventory. The Accounting Manager also monitors sales activity and ensures all fishery related taxes and operating reports are properly calculated, paid, and reported on a timely basis. The Accounting Manager also monitors fishing quotas including annual lease activity and assists in preparing annual fishing plans, budgets and updated projections, and management reports.
