    Cross Valuation Adjustment Desk, Analyst- Corporate & Investment Banking

    "SCIB US has grown significantly in the past 6 years and so has the regulatory, legal and structural complexity of the banking industry in general and Santander US in particular. Portfolio management plays a key role in the bank's risk management practices and P&L contribution through the management of capital, liquidity and derivatives counterparty risk. Hence, a close monitoring and active management of the bank's risk, assets and liabilities is needed.

    The Cross Valuation Adjustment (xVA) trading desk is responsible for pricing and managing portfolio of credit and funding risks arising from derivative transactions of CIB's global Markets business. Credit exposures span across high quality IG credits to in-bankruptcy situations. On a day-to-day basis, team members will be expected to evaluate and price derivatives transactions, stay connected with market events across fixed income and currency markets, and work with the wider team to build and expand the overall business.

    Responsibilities:

    • Pricing the xVA of new derivatives and create new metrics (debt valuation adjustment, liquidity valuation adjustment, margin valuation adjustment) which ensure that all associated risks are contemplated when assessing the suitability of a derivative.
    • Working with sales, structuring, market-makers, and quants teams on pricing of derivative transactions and ongoing risk management of positions,
    • Understanding derivatives market and credit fundamentals and trends and communicating information succinctly to salespeople, clients, and management,
    • Liaising with risk department and quant teams on improving the monthly reporting of xVA figures.
    • Coordinate with the global team.
    • Ensuring xVA US is connected with the global policies
    • Providing information needed by the global teams
    • Providing feedback on the suitability of global policies and proposing improvements
    • Track and control the accuracy of statistical models and the data used for pricing and revaluation of the xVA reserve, and review their effect on the Bank's income statement.
    Qualifications:
    • Strong academic record with minimum Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Math, Finance, and Economics. Master's preferred.
    • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, work well under pressure, and attention to details.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.

    Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.     For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $49,908-$117,875. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
