Position:


Rockefeller Capital Management is seeking a Corporate Credit Analyst with 5+ years' experience to work, preferably, in the firm's NYC location with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule.

This individual will contribute to the investment process primarily by 1) providing fundamental research and analysis on primarily corporate bond issuers to assess current and expected risk profile and 2) make buy/sell/hold recommendations within an absolute and relative value framework.


This is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact in the evolution of the fixed income business at a growing asset management firm.

The Analyst will report to Rockefeller Asset Management's Director of Fixed Income.


Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the investment process by providing fundamental corporate credit research across multiple sectors including U.S. banks, international banks that issue Yankee bonds, US insurance companies and REITs, with opportunity to expand coverage universe over time
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, making buy/sell/hold recommendations within an absolute and relative value framework on a real time basis
  • Build and maintain financial models
  • Continuous monitoring of credits held with written reviews on at least a quarterly basis; more frequently if a significant event occurred that would alter the company's fundamentals either positively or negatively identifying qualitative and quantitative factors.
  • Author credit reports that include a company's financial, debt and governance factors that impact their current and expected credit risk profile
  • Responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities and for surveillance of existing holdings
  • Responsible for investment committee presentations and ad hoc commentary on topical companies and/or news impacting corporate credit sectors
  • Maintain the corporate credit database
  • Develop relationships with rating agencies and sellside analysts
  • Partner with distribution team to provide thought pieces on the corporate credit market
  • Partner with the broader asset management team to provide cross asset credit views

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of corporate credit analyst experience preferably from the buy side, but other relevant experience will be considered
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, ideally with a postgraduate qualification (MBA and/or CFA)
  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg required
  • Broad knowledge of the corporate credit bond universe and depth across multiple sectors including a focus on finance sector analysis (i.e. banks, insurance, REITs), a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of financial statement modeling and analysis, economics, finance, and the asset management industry
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to reason
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Team player with an entrepreneurial attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and good work ethic
  • Act as resource for peers, provide candid feedback and promote constructive dialogues to advance growth
