    Description

    POSITIONSUMMARY:
    The Project EngineerisaProfessionalEngineerwith10-15 years ofexperience. This individual willdesignand/or manage avariety ofinfrastructure projects (ownedbymunicipalities and localschool districts)andwillreport directly to the principal.
    Suchprojectsshall include roads,undergroundutilities, public buildings, recreationalfacilities, and landuse applicationssubmittedbyprivate developers. This candidatewill work intheAllentown,PAarea and counties of Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon.


    PRIMARYDUTIES:
    Responsibletoactas theclient managertoone ormore municipalities or other publicagencies. The clientmanager will actas the singlepoint ofcontactbetweenthe firm andtheclient.
    He/shewill superviseandcoordinate all projects performed inthe firm onbehalfoftheclient,to the client's satisfaction.
    Develop or implementengineering solutions toassist clients withimproving andmaintainingtheir infrastructure.

    Designtransportation,utility,facility,orhydraulic systems or structures (asappropriate) usingcomputer assisted designor drawingtools.
    Computeloadandgraderequirements, water flow rates, or material stressfactors to determine designspecifications.
    Estimatequantitiesandcost ofmaterials, equipment, or labor to determineproject feasibility.
    Analyzesurvey reports,maps, drawings,blueprints, aerial photography,orother topographical or geologic data.
    Conductstudies oftraffic patterns or environmental conditions toidentifyengineering problemsand assess potential projectimpact.
    Perform alldesignactivities ensuring compliancewithenvironmental, safety, orother governmental regulations.
    Identify environmentalrisks and develop risk management strategies forprojects.

    Attending regularly scheduled publicmeetings (conductedbyMunicipalclients)inthecapacityofMunicipal Engineer, or Municipal Planning Commission Engineer.
    Prepare andpresent publicreports ontopics suchasbidproposals, project status reports and developmental reviewprojects.
    Providetechnical adviceto clients regarding design, construction, or capital programmodifications.
    Supportofthe field activities ofourconstructioninspectionstaff, including providingtimely data, shopdrawingreview, and client coordination.

    ABILITIES:
    Municipal Engineering experience preferred butnot required.
    Strong oral and writtencommunicationskills
    Ability to make public presentations.
    Ability to define problems, collect data,establishfacts and drawconclusions topresent to co-workers andclients.
    Strong organizational skills and attentionto detail
    Knowledgeofcomputeraided designsoftware.
    Ability towork ingroups as well asindividually.
    Ability to mentor younger or less experienced staff

    EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelors ofScience DegreeinCivil Engineering fromanaccreditedfour-year college oruniversity
