    Description

    Job Title: QC Inspector

    Job Description:

    Murphy Company is looking for an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join one of our growing field teams. As part of the Denver QAQC department, this position will work closely with the owner's QAQC representative, the Murphy QAQC personnel, the Murphy field project team, the Murphy shop fabrication team, and NDE firms. This individual will be responsible for the duties and tasks listed below along with other related functions.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Iso tracking
    • Visual weld inspection
    • Weld tracking and documentation
    • Welder qualifications
    • Coordinating field and shop NDE
    • Assembling turn over documents
    • Occasional assistance with ASME Pressure vessel repairs and alterations
    • Attending coordination meetings
    • General welding support
    • Generate and distribute non-conformance reports
    • Committing to the Core values and Safety policies of Murphy Company

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Must have a current AWS CWI or ASNT Level II certification including eye exam within the last 12 months
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Firm understanding of NDE methods such as VT, PT, UT, and RT
    • Good understanding of the ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code and the ASME Section IX Welding Code
    • Good computer skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
    • Self motivated with a desire to grow and develop
    • Willingness to learn new computer software
    • Be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
    • Be able to enter pressure vessels and boilers

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years working as a Quality Inspector
    • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
    • Experience reading and interpreting customer specifications
    • Experience witnessing and evaluation welder qualifications
    • Experience reading and interpreting ASME codes
    • Experience interacting with third party NDE firms
