An SBDC Area Director is a public service faculty position reporting to the District Director.
Individuals in this role are responsible for offering programs to individuals, businesses, communities, organizations, and public agencies in their assigned area.
This role demands a wide business knowledge base, strong analytical skills, and the capacity to manage multiple projects effectively.
Area Directors must oversee the performance and daily activities of their assigned office, involving travel across multiple counties.The annual salary is $90,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package, including a retirement plan. Please refer to UGA guidelines for Public Service and Outreach Academic Ranks.

Offer top-notch individual guidance to entrepreneurs, business owners, and managers.
Evaluate situations, provide advice, and educate clients on business plans, market feasibility, financial sustainability, operations management, and legal structures, among other topics.
Create and deliver high-quality business training programs tailored to the local business community's needs. Determine topics, schedules, instructors, materials, location, and resources required.
Target audiences include financial institutions, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, economic development entities, local governmental offices, civic groups, and media outlets.
Record activities via the Client Information System (CIS) promptly, accurately, and comprehensively. Gather and transmit consolidated CIS data. Maintain efficient operations of the assigned office area, overseeing personnel, budget, and resources. Ensure compliance with administrative policies, program innovation, and high-quality service delivery. Incorporate feedback from clients and management to constantly enhance performance.
