    Job Description
    • The Senior Accountant is considered a seasoned expert in their field.
    • They focus on the plans to achieve goals and objectives and carry out defined steps or processes.
    • May work closely with senior executives and/or key business leaders.
    • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
    Responsibilities
    • Analyzes operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses
    • Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries
    • Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, amortization and depreciation schedules, and other financial reports
    • Performs medium and long-term tasks and more complex requests and activities
    • Regularly uses independent judgement to resolve non-routine issues escalated from junior team members
    • Serves as a subject matter expert with technical knowledge and broad understanding of their field
    • Influences junior team members by providing advanced understanding and guidance of the subject area
    • Conveys and exchanges basic technical and factual information with colleagues, clients and customers
    • May have limited management responsibilities
    • May be responsible for providing basic training to new employees
    • May supervise entry or experienced level professional staff
    • Other functions as needed
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Degree preferred in relevant discipline
    • Five (5) or more years proven experience in the field with or without progressive responsibilities
    • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac) and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills
    • Ability to work independently or within a team
