    Description
    Cannery Hall is one of the largest independent and one of the few independent music venues in Nashville.

    Many of today's biggest stars, songwriters and working musicians, would not have gotten their big break if it wasn't for independent music venues like ours.

    We highlight new, local, and emerging artists alongside great touring acts.
    We think we owe that to our guests, staff, musicians, roadies, and vendors. We're building a community on hospitality, creativity, diversity, opportunity, and authenticity.
    The Staff Accountant functions under the supervision of and in coordination with the General Manager.

    This position will be maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining financial records to track accounts receivable or payable, tax liabilities and other related financial activities.


    NOTE:
    This position does not offer relocation.

    We are looking for an accounting professional with experience in and passion for the hospitality (e.g., restaurant or hotel) and/or music entertainment industry.

    Maintains general ledger.
    # Performs general cost accounting and other related duties.
    # Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly books.
    # Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
    # Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll, customer accounts and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
    # Verifies and completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
    # Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
    # Prepares and files tax returns with federal, state, and local government agencies.
    # Coordinates with M3 software vendor to maintain accounting software systems.
    # Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
    # Prepare financial statements and product budget according to schedule.
    # Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
    # Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) standards.
    # Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
    ~3+ years relevant experience in the hospitality (restaurant or hotel) and/or music entertainment industry
    ~ Proficient in M3 accounting software.
    # Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    # Versatile, flexible and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
    # Proficient in computer operations, including Microsoft Office programs.
    # Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical financial practices.
    # Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    Visual acuity to operate computer, read reports on a screen and use a keyboard.
