    Job Description


    The Manager, Data Warehouse / Architecture managesthe daily operations and projects for a group responsible for the University'sdata warehouse, data marts and business intelligence functions.

    Oversees alloperational aspects for supporting these environments. Determines correspondingproject plans, priorities, budget items and resource requirements. Oversees the design of the data warehouse to include the data processing anddecision support components. Ensures the timeliness, accuracy, qualityand integrity of the data and consistency and coordination across theplatform.

    Collaborates with their team and others within ITS to developrequirements, understand reporting needs and provide high level logical datawarehouse and business intelligence solutions to meet users' business needs andfacilitate integration of the data warehouse into the ITS infrastructure.

    Theincumbent works with ITS and business teams to deliver effective methodologiesfor managing and maintaining the data warehouse.

    This encompasseseffective reporting models and toolsets to allow diverse sets of users toaccess and extract information from the data warehouse.

    These systemsmust meet the specifications for academic, research or administrative needs.
    Administrative functions represent the primary audience, but other audiencesmay include faculty, staff, students, prospective students, alumni, parents,and external organizations.

    Thisposition also works closely with the Data Integration Manager for identifyingand administering data integration to the data repositories and service levelagreements with our business partners.

    The Data Warehouse Manager isknowledgeable with the tools used across the datacenter as well as to our Cloudvendors. This includes both datacenter and hybrid technology for deliveringinformation to the University. Developing a secure and robust architecture iscritical to supporting the business units as applications continue to migratefrom our datacenter.

    Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range:
    $126,150 to $157,700; salary commensuratewith relevant experience.

    Requirements

    BA/BS in relevant discipline required. 8-10 years building andimplementing large scale data warehouses including 4-6 years of projectmanagement experience.

    Skills Required:
    Expert analyst skills for requirements development and technicalspecifications.
    Ability to work under a formal software development lifecycle.
    Expert knowledge of data warehousing methodologies (e.g. Kimball).
    Expert Knowledge of IBM DataStage and associated WebSphere/CloudPaktechnologies.
    Expert knowledge of following Oracle skills: SQL, PL/SQL, ETL toolsets, OLAPtechnologies.
    Expert knowledge of applying Oracle security to reporting solutions (roles,VPD, encryption, enterprise user).
    Expert knowledge of data modeling and use of data modeling tools .
    Expert knowledge of Business Intelligence tools: Cognos, ThoughtSpot.
    Strong logical and physical data modeling skills.
    Experienced mentor.
    Data Mart Design skills.
    Support and integration of new Oracle tools (Application Express, BIPublisher).
    Experience with source management tools such as Git.
    Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    Must be available to address critical system issues during off hours.
