    Description

    Our growing consumer bankruptcy firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our team in Chicago. We are dedicated to helping our clients improve their financial situation and get a fresh start. No prior experience in bankruptcy law is necessary, as we take pride in training our attorneys in-house.

    Responsibilities:

    • Represent clients in consumer bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings
    • Working with clients to assess their financial situation and eligibility for bankruptcy
    • Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions and related documents
    • Attend court hearings, including 341 meetings and confirmation hearings after
    • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in bankruptcy law and regulations
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

    Qualifications:

    • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
    • Licensed to practice law in Illinois, or eligible to become licensed
    • Passionate about helping people and making a positive impact on their lives
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines
    • Eager to learn and grow within the practice of bankruptcy law
