- Lead day-to-day finance operations and supervise accounting staff, including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP as well as other federal, state and institutional regulations.
- Review and maintain all financial reports and records.
- Act as lead in annual financial audit (i.e., communicating with auditors. Ensuring needed documents are available to auditors).
- Review and maintain all Finance Policies and Procedures.
- Implement and oversee internal controls for all financial systems of the agency.
- Prepare and review month and year-end closing of financial reporting.
- Assist with grant related reporting, billing and properly accounting for contributions.
- Assist in preparation of and ensure Form 990 Tax Returns are filed timely.
- Payroll reporting (w2's, 941's, 1095, SUTA, etc.) and payroll tax deposits.
- Prepare and present monthly financials statements at the BOD Finance Committee Meetings.
- Review financial compliance with grants received.
- Work closely and transparently with all external partners including third-party vendors and consultants.
- To be responsible for hiring, orientation and ongoing supervision of finance and administration staff.
- To conduct regular performance appraisals with direct reports providing constructive feedback and direction as to improvement.
- To provide positive leadership to all staff, encouraging a team approach, professional attitude and good communication always modeling best practices in this regard.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors.
- To be an active participant in the Leadership team of the agency, attending meetings regularly and bringing forward issues for discussion and decision.
- To assist CEO in strategic planning and business development.

- Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA/CPA preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting and/or finance
- The ideal candidate has experience of responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.
- The successful candidate will be hands on and will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, and administration.
- Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with – programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
- A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- A multi-tasker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Wellfully.

Summary of DutiesThe Accounting and Financial Reporting Director manages the accounting operations and staff.
The director issues timely financial reports, maintains an adequate system of accounting records and comprehensive set of internal controls, and ensures reported financial results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
The Accounting Director will be a strategic thought-partner, and report to the Executive Director/CEO.The Accounting Director will play a critical role in partnering with the leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as Wellfully continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity.
