    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Keyboarding and general clerical skills
    • Computer and technological skills
    • Ability to utilize independent judgment
    • Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
    • Basic knowledge of library procedures, including media processing.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • 1. Circulates materials to students and teachers.
    • 2. Maintains library circulation records, per school need.
    • 3. Maintains and up-dates the library inventory and completes an end-of-the-year inventory report.
    • 4. Checks returned materials for repair needs.
    • 5. Repairs books as needed and appropriate.
    • 6. Shelves materials; straightens and reads shelves daily, maintaining a clean attractive physical setting.
    • 7. Circulates equipment to building staff and provides instruction for use.
    • 8. Inventories and maintains equipment, performing minor repairs.
    • 9. Sets up and/or operates video and sound equipment for building staff.
    • 10. Processes magazines.
    • 11. Manages Accelerated Reader program, if needed in respective school.
    • 12. Performs clerical duties associated with the position.
    • 13. Provides assistance to students and staff in the selection and location of material and library resources.
    • 14. Under the direction of certified personnel, provides library and information skills instruction to students.
    • 15. Facilitates the selection and ordering of new materials under the direction of certified personnel.
    • 16. Facilitates the preview and evaluation of new media material.
    • 17. Communicates with staff and students in regards to library activities and promotes library programs.
    • 18. Supervises students using the library, as well as student and/or volunteer help.
    • 19. Collects, records, and manages money for lost or damaged books.
    • 20. Participates in staff development activities.
    • 21. Provides for his/her own professional growth.
    • 22. Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal or Director of Library Services.
