- Identify opportunities, participate in pre-bid meetings, and conduct thorough site visits to assess project requirements and scope
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed estimates for materials and labor. Utilize Accubid estimating software for precision
- Work closely with project managers, vendors, and engineers to assemble comprehensive and competitive bids
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and standards in the construction industry to enhance bid accuracy and competitiveness
- Maintain and update our internal cost database and estimators to reflect current market trends and prices
- Engage in post-bid meetings and participate in contract negotiations as required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not strictly required.
- A minimum of 3 years in electrical estimating, with a proven track record of accuracy and success.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Construction Estimator (CCE) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and codes, and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and Accubid. Familiarity with project management principles and techniques
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Utilize software and tools for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to develop accurate estimates
- Solid knowledge of construction and electrical industry practices, materials, and techniques
