    INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrumentation and Control Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our project development process by accurately estimating the costs associated with instrumentation and control systems for a wide range of industrial and engineering projects. As an Instrumentation and Control Estimator, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate project budgeting, competitive bidding, and efficient resource allocation.

    RESPONSIBILITIES FOR INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL ESTIMATOR:

    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, technical specifications, and scope of work for instrumentation and control systems.
    • Analyze project documentation, drawings, and specifications to identify the necessary components, equipment, and materials required for accurate cost estimation.
    • Develop detailed cost estimates for instrumentation and control systems, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and other relevant expenses.
    • Utilize industry-specific software and tools to generate accurate cost breakdowns and estimates, ensuring alignment with project objectives and company standards.
    • Evaluate supplier quotes and subcontractor bids, assessing their feasibility and competitiveness in order to select the most cost-effective options.
    • Maintain a comprehensive database of historical project data, cost trends, and market pricing for instrumentation and control components, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of future estimates.
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to review vendor agreements, negotiate terms, and ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment within budget constraints.
    • Participate in project review meetings to provide insight into cost estimation methodologies, potential risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
    • Assist in the development of project proposals and bid documents, providing accurate and transparent cost breakdowns to support the business development process.
    • Monitor and communicate changes in project scope, specifications, or requirements that may impact cost estimates, and propose appropriate adjustments as necessary.
    • Stay informed about advancements in instrumentation and control technologies, industry best practices, and market trends to enhance estimation accuracy and relevance.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL ESTIMATOR:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
    • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in cost estimation within the field of instrumentation and control systems for industrial projects.
    • Strong technical understanding of instrumentation and control components, systems, and associated costs.
    • Proficiency in using estimation software, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical documentation and drawings.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
    • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional, Professional Engineer) are a plus.
