Cost Estimator requires cross functional engagement with customers, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, finance, and leadership.

In addition, this position will support continuous improvement and documentation of routing processes / quote tables by part attributes and machine capabilities and support best in class supplier competitiveness.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with customers and sales to ensure all necessary documents for customer RFQ's are received and documented drawings, specifications, CAD models, Directedbuy costs & suppliers, etc.
  • Determines material, machines, routings, labor, and process requirements.
  • Create and calculate product total cost estimates for sales and management to use for quoting, capacity planning for manpower availability & equipment utilization, tooling, and capital requirements.
  • Interacts with Customers, Sales, Mfg. Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and others to obtain and provide information necessary to resolve issues and establish an accurate estimate.
  • Establishes setup and run rates and related cost data.
  • Enter all relevant data into a computerized quote program.
  • Presents a formalized cost estimate to Sales which is used to establish selling prices to bid on future profitable work.
  • Consolidates large program cost details into a summary for extended labor and equipment capacity prior to quoting.
  • Supports customers adhoc cost analysis requests for shouldcosts / cost transparences templates.
  • Present a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and coworkers and make decisions based on company policies and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:


Experience and Skills:


  • 25 years directly related experience, strong negotiation skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong followup skills, and experience working in an ERP system (Dynamics is a bonus).
  • Understanding of Cost Accounting a plus.
  • Manual dexterity and problemsolving skills.

Education/Certification:


  • A high school diploma is required and a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field related to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
