Cost Estimator requires cross functional engagement with customers, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, finance, and leadership.

In addition, this position will support continuous improvement and documentation of routing processes / quote tables by part attributes and machine capabilities and support best in class supplier competitiveness.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with customers and sales to ensure all necessary documents for customer RFQ's are received and documented drawings, specifications, CAD models, Directedbuy costs & suppliers, etc.
Determines material, machines, routings, labor, and process requirements.
Create and calculate product total cost estimates for sales and management to use for quoting, capacity planning for manpower availability & equipment utilization, tooling, and capital requirements.
Interacts with Customers, Sales, Mfg. Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and others to obtain and provide information necessary to resolve issues and establish an accurate estimate.
Establishes setup and run rates and related cost data.
Enter all relevant data into a computerized quote program.
Presents a formalized cost estimate to Sales which is used to establish selling prices to bid on future profitable work.
Consolidates large program cost details into a summary for extended labor and equipment capacity prior to quoting.
Supports customers adhoc cost analysis requests for shouldcosts / cost transparences templates.
Present a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and coworkers and make decisions based on company policies and processes.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience and Skills:

25 years directly related experience, strong negotiation skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong followup skills, and experience working in an ERP system (Dynamics is a bonus).
Understanding of Cost Accounting a plus.
Manual dexterity and problemsolving skills.

Education/Certification:

A high school diploma is required and a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field related to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
