    The Marketing and Events Coordinator Role

    The Marketing and Events Coordinator will have a vital role at Friendship Center by supporting fundraising, event management and marketing activities. The position entails nurturing donor relationships, overseeing fundraising campaigns and events, as well as managing marketing efforts to boost awareness of Friendship Center's impactful work for adults and families affected by dementia. The ideal candidate should be passionate about philanthropy and community engagement, possess experience in the non-profit sector in Santa Barbara, have strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work well independently and in a team. The Marketing and Events Coordinator will play a significant part in the growth and success of Friendship Center by securing financial support, building partnerships, and enhancing the organization's visibility and reputation in the community.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Plan, schedule, and execute various Friendship Center events including fundraisers, campaigns, donor cultivation events, and outreach events.
    • Develop comprehensive event plans, timelines, and budgets.
    • Promote events through various channels and manage registration processes.
    • Coordinate with vendors, partners, volunteers, and sponsors.
    • Update and maintain event guest lists and solicitation databases.
    • Write sponsorship and grant proposals.
    • Organize event logistics, marketing, social media, and PR activities.
    • Create necessary signage and materials for events.
    • Assist with auxiliary fundraising events logistics.
    • Control inventory of marketing materials and prepare financial reports.
    • Execute pre- and post-event communications plans.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director on website projects.
    • Develop written correspondence, graphic materials, and branding for projects.
    • Guide marketing efforts from conceptualization to implementation.
    • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and local media.
    • Prepare and distribute press releases and fundraising materials.
    • Enhance the culture of giving through messaging and branding.
    • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors for major gifts.
    • Manage and develop appeals and campaigns targeting new donors.
    • Draft fundraising campaign language and steward existing donors.
    • Record all gifts and manage gift acknowledgment.
    • Supervise donor recognition strategies and events.
    • Develop partnerships with corporations and local businesses.
    • Represent the organization positively to generate financial support.
    • Prepare proposals, agreements, and materials for securing major gifts.
    • Skills Required:
      • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or related field.
      • 1-3 years of marketing, communications, or administrative experience.
      • Analytical skills for strategic planning and relationship management.
      • Excellent event and project planning skills.
      • Proven track record in reaching fundraising goals.
      • Strong project management and organizational skills.
      • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Canva, DonorPerfect, and digital platforms.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Commitment to building an inclusive community.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
