This is NOT a CNC position SECOND Shift - Monday - Thursday 10 hours/day 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM

Conventional Manual Lathe, Manual Mill and ID/OD Grinding ONLY

This is for local applicants only. No one from out of state - no relocation package - must be within 20 miles of Van Nuys

Job Responsibilities:

Machining various steel and aluminum aircraft parts on manual lathes, mills, ID/OD grinders, and other manual machining equipment.
Holding tight tolerances (+/
Low production, prototype environment, strong attention to details.
Read and interpret shop routings / travelers, and interpret engineering drawings.

Requirements:

High Energy with a positive attitude (self starter)
5+ years minimum experience
Proficient on manual lathes and manual mills.
Holding tight tolerances (+/
Skilled with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Effectively communicate in English; written, reading, and verbal skills.
Flexible, eager to learn and willing to be crossed trained.
We are looking for a Team player that can be possibly be groomed for a lead position. Education and/or Experience:
High School Graduate or GED.
Exposed to manufacturing/machine shop / Aviation environments.

Equipment Used:

Basic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and tooling. CMM, hydraulic and/or mechanical manufacturing equipment, various types of grinders, sanders, mills, lathes, hand air tools, misc. measuring equipment, personal safety devices.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently slide and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
