Job DescriptionSalary: 20-35

POSITION SUMMARY: Benching, thread deburring, and honing of critical aerospace fasteners. Determines best methods for deburring parts without damaging critical features. Train Deburr staff in best methods. Perform rework on discrepant parts for the Quality Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or GED is required.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills required.
5+ years of experience in Aerospace Machine Shop required.

Physical Demands: The employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor, exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or exert up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Licenses Required: None

Visual Acuity: Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.

Hearing Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions: The employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes (dust and mist) and skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.

The employee may be required to follow other job‐related instructions and to perform other job‐related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Works in Deburr Department to remove sharp edges, burrs and improve finishes as instructed.

Removes burrs or excess metal from machined parts, using files, sandpaper, emery cloth, buffing wheels, etc.
Set up Honing machine for finishing of tight tolerance holes
Coordinates Deburr department activities with the Manufacturing Manager.
Inspects and measures parts to maintain tight tolerance features.
Removes metal chips and shavings from surfaces of machines, using rag or air hose, and wipes surfaces of machines with rag to remove excess oil.
Cleans around work areas, using broom and shovel.
