    Job Summary
    · Treats and evaluates patients; administers advanced nursing care in a particular clinical specialty area. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities including diagnosis, the prescription of medical therapeutics in collaboration with and under the direction of the licensed physician. Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment that is centered on the needs of the patients, caregivers and others demonstrating concern for the patient's privacy, comfort, and emotional state. Treats patient with consideration to age, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and culture in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.

    Education
    · Bachelors Degree : in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. (Required)
    · Masters Degree : in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program. (Required)

    Licenses and Certifications
    · CRNP - PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner (Required)
    · RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
    · PRX-AUTH - Prescriptive Authority (Preferred)
    · BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)

    Experience
    · 2 Years experience as a nurse practitioner (Preferred)
    · 1 Year experience in a clinical specialty practice (Preferred)
    · 1 year outpatient/ambulatory experience (Preferred)
    · Experience in an EPIC environment (Preferred)

    General Responsibilities
    · Complies with all Temple University Health System policies and procedures, and all applicable accreditation standards, laws and regulations, including those regarding patient confidentiality such as, but not limited to, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, P. L 'HIPAA') and the rules and regulations implemented hereunder.
    · Adheres to and promotes Hospital Safety Standards and the Safety Management Plan.

    · Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
    · Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.

    - Conducts accurate clinical assessments and diagnosis. Seeks validation of clinical judgment from supervising physician
    - Identifies and prioritizes patient/family strengths, needs and priorities
    - Develops, implements and evaluates the patients individualized plans of care, meeting mutually agreed-upon clinical outcomes
    - Delivers care consistent with established policies, procedures and standards of care
    - Educate the patient/support network about the diagnosis, treatment plan, and the discharge plan

    Identifies the normal course of illness in assigned patient population recognizing/intervening when deviations occur
    - Communicates patient information and thoroughly documents actions and plan of care. Manages patient assignment by delegating effectively based on patient needs and skills of team members
    - Provides continued patent fare in the outpatient environment, reevaluation treatment plans and adjusting care plan as clinically appropriate
    - Provides psychosocial support to patients and their support network.

    - Demonstrates professional accountability in documenting care provided. Ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements for documentation and information management. Identifies gaps in documentation. Participates in development of documentation systems that align technology with nursing practice. Models best practice utilizing handoff during transition of care.
