    Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with various media outlets
    • Analyze current public land issues and develop communication strategies
    • Create and distribute diverse materials to share organization's activities with the public
    • Write engaging social media content
    • Lead Public Participation, Outreach, and Education efforts

    Necessary Qualifications

    Employment Conditions

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Background check and drug screening may be required
    • Must comply with Selective Service Registration Act requirements
    • Provide resume and relevant documents
    • Restrictions apply regarding real estate licenses and stocks in certain firms
    • Completion of probationary period may be required for new federal employees
    • Enrollment in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program is mandatory
    • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license
    • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary

    Qualifications

    Farmington/Taos, NM Salary Range:
    GS-11: $72,553- $94,317
    GS-12: $86,962- $113,047

    Santa Fe, NM Salary Range:
    GS-11: $73,317- $95,310
    GS-12: $87,878- $114,237

    Education and Experience Requirements: To be considered minimally qualified, applicants must demonstrate necessary specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level.

    GS-11:
    Specialized Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience, or equivalent doctoral degree.
    OR
    Education:
    Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or relevant graduate education.
    OR
    Combination:
    Combination of experience and education.

    GS-12:
    Specialized Experience: Minimum one year of comparable experience to GS-11 level.

    Applicants must meet qualifications by the announcement deadline.

    Volunteering Experience: Gain experience through paid or unpaid work including volunteer programs.

    Educational Qualifications: Provide transcripts indicating relevant education.

    GRADUATE EDUCATION: Equivalent credits determined by graduate school for full-time study.

    Education cannot substitute experience at GS-12 level.
