    Founded in 1973, Mid-State started out as a Machine Shop with 15 employees servicing mostly the Phosphate industry. Today, Mid-State employees over 500 people serving the Phosphate, Chemical, Power, Citrus, Sand & Aggregate, and many other industries by offering turnkey solutions including field maintenance, fabrication, dragline repair, machining, pump repair, gearbox repair, and valve repair. Mid-State is equipped with industry experts, over 200,000 square feet of shop space, and overhead crane capacity up to 35 tons all which allow us to meet all of our clients' needs.

    Job Summary

    As the Warehouse Material Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating with shop personnel to properly distribute material, maintain a well-organized work area, and assist with inspections as needed.

    Essential Duties
    • Check bill of ladings to verify accuracy and completeness of deliveries.
    • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
    • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
    • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine material assignments based on shop needs.
    • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
    • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
    • Move materials to and from storage or production areas, or delivery vehicles, by hand or using a forklift.
    • Safely operate forklifts and other equipment.
    • Keep storage area(s) organized to ensure safety and materials can be located quickly.
    • Organize collection of job waste.
    • Coordinate safety supplies are always full and equipment is properly inspected.
    • Alert project manager or supervisor of any material discrepancies as soon as it's discovered.
    • Mandatory to carry a company phone, for handling assistance throughout the day and to monitor emails for updates on incoming material.
    • Required to complete daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections.
    • Position requires the incumbent be willing and able to work from various worksites as necessary.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Skills & Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • Basic material handling knowledge and experience is required.
    • Prior experience operating forklifts is a plus.
    • Intermediate computer skills required in Microsoft Excel.
    • Basic to intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook, required.

    • This is a non-exempt position.
    • This position reports to the Machine Shop Superintendent.

    Physical Requirements / Working Environment
    • Location is 1400 Chamber Drive, Bartow, Florida.
    • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, 7AM - 3PM and overtime and weekend work is frequently required.
    • Working environment is often times in harsh elements (hot / humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment / machinery, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.
    • While performing the duties of this job, you will:
      • Frequently use hands and arms in handling, moving materials, and manipulating things.
      • Frequently operate a forklift.
      • Routinely perform physical activities that require use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping. Occasional climbing.
