    Description
    We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team in the Industrial Distribution industry.

    This accountant will play a crucial role in managing financial records, analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and assisting with financial decision-making within an organization.

    This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.


    Singer Industrial is one of America's largest Industrial Distributors with a North American footprint of approximately 90 locations with over 1,200 employees.

    Singer Industrial strives to efficiently improve customer productivity with innovative industrial solutions, while providing employee growth and opportunity.

    We do this with a robust line of fluid power, hose & fittings, belts, seals & gaskets, pneumatic and automation products and services.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    Record and classify financial transactions accurately using appropriate accounting software or systems.
    Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data entered into the general ledger.
    Prepare and post monthly journal entries.

    Prepare financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) on a regular basis or as needed for management and stakeholders.

    Analyze financial statements to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
    Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
    Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts based on historical financial data and future financial projections.
    Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing explanations for variances.
    Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary financial information, documentation, and explanations to auditors.
    Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
    Manage the accounts payable process, including entering vouchers and making payments via ACH and Check.
    Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, cost reduction initiatives, and investment opportunities.
    Provide recommendations based on financial analysis to improve financial performance and efficiency.
    Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
    Implement effective cash management practices to optimize the organization's liquidity.
    Maintain and update the accounting system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy of financial records.
    Train staff on the proper use of accounting software and processes.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, discuss financial performance, and align financial goals with organizational objectives.
    Communicate financial information to management and stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and auditing.
    Proficient in using accounting software and financial management systems.
    Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    Attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping and reporting.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    Compliance with ethical and professional standards in the field of accounting.

    Education And Experience

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred.
    Current permanent U.S. work authorization required – no sponsorship.

    Physical Requirements:
    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
