    Description
    VERBIO North America Corporation (VNA) is rapidly growing. VNA is a subsidiary of VERBIO SE, a well-established, successful, biofuel company in Germany.

    VERBIO produces innovative biofuels, such as Biodiesel, Bioethanol, Biogas/Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), feed and fertilizers as well as bio-components for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food industries.

    Position Purpose
    The I.T. Specialist position is responsible for monitoring and responding to help desk tickets, escalating when necessary.

    They will also directly execute all IT functions which are out of scope for the MSP and ensure compliance with company policies and directives.

    Working with minimal supervision, this position will handle I.T. functions for the plant(s) with technical assistance and support related to computer systems, Industrial Process Control, hardware, or software.
    Key responsibilities


    • Acts as onsite point of contact for IT issues.
    • Provide exceptional customer service in person, via phone, Teams, and email as appropriate.
    • Help create, update, and resolve issues within the current issue tracking system.
    • Resolve appropriate service requests including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
    • Monitor and identify issues and escalate to Managed Service Provider appropriately.
    • Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, peripheral devices, and mobile devices.
    • Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of CCTV cameras, video conferencing systems, and other A/V equipment.
    • Integrate, configure, and maintain software and hardware components, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), SCADA systems, and other control devices, to enable effective control and automation of industrial processes.
    • Responsible for network security, including user accounts, permissions and access rights, firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable network and software installations.
    • Prepares documentation of IT systems
    • Test and evaluate existing network systems. Perform regular maintenance to ensure that networks operate correctly. Troubleshoot as necessary.
    • Maintain and optimize the network infrastructure that supports industrial process control systems, including Ethernet, fieldbus, and wireless communication protocols.
    • Assist with development and deployment of cybersecurity and IT governance strategy.
    • Takeover management of the corporate phone system
    • Proactively identifies trends in the environment and potential areas that may cause future problems, escalates, and communicates diagnostics appropriately.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement
    • Ensure corporate guidelines, especially for IT security, are met and implemented correctly.
    • Implement corporate IT projects and support IT initiatives.
    • Assist with budgeting.
    • May be cross trained to perform other job functions as staffing needs dictate.
    • Provides coverage for other team members, when necessary.
    Qualifications


    • Associates degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Knowledge of modern computer hardware and cloud systems
    • Knowledge of Compuweigh, Manage Engine Service Desk and Mobile Device Manager a plus.
    • Willingness to learn additional skills and participate in formal IT training measures.
    • Ability to independently manage several projects simultaneously and operate under deadlines.
    • Self-directed, flexible, and excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills required.
    • Analytical approach to problem solving and needs definition.
    • 2+ years of IT support experience
    • 2+ years' experience working in Industrial IT environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
