    Position: Child Care Service Specialist

    Summary:
    - Responsible for monitoring compliance of child care facilities and providing technical assistance to facility operators.
    - Inspects and evaluates child care facilities for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
    - Provides workshops, answers inquiries, and offers child care related information to facility operators.
    - Recommends licensure, re-licensure, or denial/revocation of licenses for facilities.
    - Investigates abuse/neglect or licensure complaints with social service personnel.
    - Identifies deficiencies, recommends corrective actions, and maintains case files on facilities.
    - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    - Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding child care facilities.
    - Ability to inspect, evaluate facilities, and provide technical assistance to operators.
    - Ability to investigate complaints, recommend actions, and prepare reports.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    - Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field; plus one year of experience in social services or a related area.
    - Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes.
