    Description
    We are currently seeking a full-time

    Staff Structural Engineer

    to help us achieve our company mission.

    This person will be part of the Civil/Structural team, which is responsible for structural designs in facilities such as refineries, distilleries, and consumer packaging facilities.

    C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.


    Responsibilities include:
    Prepares computer analyses and calculations.

    Initiates discussion within the project team to arrive at design solutions that give the best value for a limited constructed cost.

    Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.
    Researches national and local codes, interprets grey areas and recommends appropriate design to meet requirements.

    The Staff Structural Engineer develops subcontract scopes including compiling team needs for field investigation and testing, including surveys, laser scanning, geotechnical reports, and exploratory excavations.

    Contacts clients independently to obtain information or resolve design issues. Identifies work opportunities with existing clients.
    The Staff Structural Engineer monitors and reports progress against engineering schedules and budgets. Independently takes corrective actions to meet plan.
    With appropriate support, ensures designs are constructable. Understands construction techniques, limitations, and relative costs.
    Graduation from a four-year ABET accredited college.
    Degree in Civil Engineering.
    10 years of related work experience preparing construction documents in a multi-discipline engineering environment.
    PE is strongly preferred.
